However, given how many businesses are openly considering pivoting to a remote-first community a year later, working remotely seems destined to last longer. Many of us have had time to get used to working from home, but transforming our mostly comfort-focused homes into functional professional workspaces can be difficult.
You might want to transform your homes into workspaces and be an effective employee despite the pandemic. When working from home almost always necessitates the use of new technology. This means the internet and all the office starter pack apps like Zoom. If you are a newbie to virtual meetings, here are some tips that can help you stay presentable and productive. Changing your Zoom Background Everyone has been using Zoom to attend work meetings, engage in online courses, and keep in touch with friends and family while staying at home in recent months. With so many people still using Zoom to work from home or stay in contact with their family and friends from afar, learning how to change your Zoom background is a must-have skill these days. Changing your Zoom backdrop adds some visual interest to your daily video conference meetings. It is also ideal for a themed virtual gathering, such as birthdays or happy hours. One of Zoom's best features is allowing its users to change their real-life backgrounds to a video or picture. This is best if you want to have the office feel in your meeting or conceal your cluttered home office or bedroom. There is no need for a green screen! The virtual context function adds some variety to your Zoom calls. As a result, your callers will be able to see you on a tropical beach, in front of the Golden Gate Bridge, or even in space. Zoom comes with a few pre-installed virtual backgrounds, but you can also upload your own picture to make your Zoom background more personal. Here are the steps in modifying your background picture Steps on changing Zoom background on the desktop app Before joining a meeting: 1. Install the Zoom program on your Mac or PC. 2. Open the app and sign in. 3. Select your profile photo, then select Settings from the drop-down menu. 4. Pick the Virtual Background tab from the left menu bar. 5. In the Virtual Background tab, choose one of Zoom's default images or upload your own. 6. Click the + icon to add your own image or video from your device. After joining a meeting: 1. Click the up arrow next to Stop Video at the bottom of the client. 2. Select Change Virtual Background. 3. In the Virtual Background tab, choose one of Zoom's default images or upload your own. 4. If you have a green screen set-up, you can select that option. 5. Click the + icon to add your own image or video from your device. Steps on changing Zoom background on the mobile app 1. Install the Zoom iOS app on your iPhone or iPad. 2. Open the app, sign in and join a meeting. 3. To open the More Menu, tap the three dots at the bottom right. 4. Tap Virtual Background. 5. Select one of Zoom's defaults or upload your own. Now that your Zoom background is all set, you do not want yourself to be left out underdressed- even when you are just at home. As unnecessary as outfit preparation can seem at the time, it is an opportunity to claim a sliver of power amid otherwise overwhelmingly unpredictable times. What is our recommendation? Take advantage of the chance and have some fun with it. During this brief time of darkness, welcome vibrant colors. While we cannot map out how the next few weeks or months will unfold, what we can do is deliver tips for getting dressed when you have got absolutely nowhere to go. Best Work-from-Home Outfits Your first reaction may be to leap for joy at the prospect of working in your sweatpants, but dressing too casually can be risky. It is fine to wear your monochrome sweat suit every now and then, but establishing a dress code for yourself is one of the easiest ways to avoid poor work-from-home habits. Different clothing styles have other effects on us. Those effects are primarily determined by two factors: how we look when wearing the clothes and what the clothes signify. When putting together your work from home wardrobe, you strongly recommend that you strike a balance between being too dressy and too casual. Wear things that have a personal meaning for you that will make you feel more optimistic. That may mean reaching for your favorite blouse, favorite color, or something else that holds a rare, meaningful significance for you. Setting Boundaries Through your Work-From-Home Wardrobe Once you have assembled your work-from-home wardrobe, it is time to create some boundaries in your life. Besides your friends and family, one of the most important boundaries you can establish is a start and end time for your work day. You may find yourself happier when you work from home, but you may also find yourself working longer hours. Allowing your work to spill into your personal time to relax and unwind is not a good idea. Having these boundaries in place will help you avoid burnout from remote work. At the end of your work day, change out of your work clothes. Finish what you are doing and slip into your favorite pajamas or leisurewear. This will also teach the body to understand when it is safe to relax. Working from home may seem like a lot of adjustments but it is one of the best ways to ensure our family's safety and comfort at the end of the day. According to a famous quote, “It’s not the tragedy that kills us, it’s the mess.” Here comes tip number one, always clean your mess. Sometimes, a messy home is more stressful than making reports at work. When you’re already busy from work and you are welcomed by a big mess at home, it will definitely stress you out. Always clean before you go. Make it a habit to clean your house every day to go home to a pleasing sight. “Our most favorite part of our home is the sala.” This is the part of the house that welcomes us home. From gatherings, binge-watching series’ on Netflix, or even sleeping, this is the best place we can definitely think of. Tip number two, make your sala a relaxing space by putting everything in order. It is advised that we place an air purifier in our sala to keep the air fresh and clean. In-hailing fresh scents are one of the things that calm and relax us. “The greatest wealth is health.” Here comes tip number three, keeping fresh fruits and vegetables at home are vital for having a healthy home. With the help of technology, making healthy juices or refreshments can be easily done at home. You can mix any fruit you have and match. The refreshments you will be able to make will make you healthy and give you relaxation.
